Dorchester is the largest neighborhood in Boston, encompassing roughly six square miles with an estimated population of 120,000 residents. It is home to the University of Massachusetts-Boston, the John F. Kennedy Library and the Franklin Park Zoo.

Dorchester’s proximity to downtown Boston and other popular neighborhoods make it a cornerstone of the Boston area and was known as Boston’s first “street car suburb”. It also contains some of the city’s best home values - grand turn of the century homes can be found in Ashmont Hill and Melville Park for less money than most downtown condos and are easily accessible via the T’s Red Line. The Triple Decker - perhaps Dorchester’s most well known housing style, provide a great option for condo buyers (many have been divided into condos), or those looking to buy a multi-family home.
